French Antitrust Enforcers Set to Charge Nvidia with Anticompetitive Practices
French antitrust regulators are preparing to levy charges against Nvidia Corp., accusing the semiconductor giant of engaging in anticompetitive practices. According to information reported by Reuters, this action comes amid increasing regulatory scrutiny faced by Nvidia, the world's most valuable chipmaker.
Sources with direct knowledge of the matter indicate that France could potentially be the first nation to take legal action against Nvidia on these grounds. This impending charge sheet, also known as a statement of objections, follows a government raid on Nvidia's offices in September.
In the wake of these developments, Nvidia's shares experienced a decline of 1.5%, falling to $121.69 as of 11:08 a.m. in New York on Monday. Despite this dip, Nvidia's stock had more than doubled throughout the year up to the previous week.
Both the French antitrust agency and Nvidia declined to comment on the matter when approached by Bloomberg.
