Virgin Galactic Successfully Completes Second Space Tourism Flight of the Year
Virgin Galactic has successfully completed a mission, dubbed Galactic 07, which saw four tourists embark on a journey to the edge of space and back on its spaceplane. This marks the second such flight executed by the company this year. The mission transported passengers from Turkey, the United States, and Italy to an altitude of approximately 55 miles (88.51 kilometers). The excursion, which spanned somewhat over an hour, commenced and concluded at Spaceport America in New Mexico this past Saturday.
Virgin Galactic’s VSS Unity spaceplane undertook its final commercial voyage on this occasion. The company is shifting focus to the development of its fourth-generation spaceships, anticipated to commence commercial operations in 2026. This transition underscores Virgin Galactic’s ongoing commitment to advancing space tourism and broadening access to the unique experience of space travel.
